Symptoms of external hemorrhoids

When you have external hemorrhoids then swellings will develop on the outside of your anus. These swellings will be hard and will be very painful to you when ever you sit or shit. This swelling forms due to the clotting of blood around the anus and the rectal orifice.

This condition of a blood clot forming a swelling outside your anus is usually called a thrombosed hemorrhoid in diagnostic terms. But some internal hemorrhoids do enlarge and protrude outside the body. These however are different from the external hemorrhoids. If the above mentioned hemorrhoid symptoms are yours then you are suffering from external hemorrhoids.

Symptoms of internal hemorrhoids

If say you do not have all of these hemorrhoid symptoms but still you face some of the common symptoms mentioned above then there are other symptoms that you have to look for. For example when you wipe your anus with a clean tissue do blood stains appear?

Or maybe, when you have a bowel movement, is it mixed with blood? If answer to the two questions is yes then you are surely suffering from internal hemorrhoids and you should be looking for a way to cure your hemorrhoids. Sometimes it may happen that your internal hemorrhoid grows so large that it forces itself out your anus. This condition cannot be mixed up with the condition of external hemorrhoid (as indicated previously).

Hemroids symptoms include everything from itching to passage of blood and as there are many varieties so we will deal with them under different heads. The first thing that however needs to be told is that internal hemorrhoid symptoms and external hemroid symptoms vary widely and therefore the need to deal with them differently.

External hemorrhoids

External hemroid symptoms include pain in the rectal area of the digestive tract because bowel movement is obstructed and made difficult. Often this painful situation may give rise to clotting of blood under the skin and formation of lumps. This lumped condition under the skin is called a thrombosed condition and therefore also known as thrombosed hemorrhoids.

Sometimes this may also happen that when your stool is exceptionally hard and you are striving to put all your pressure on it to make it come out, you will notice blood spots on the stool. This blood passing is not general but happens very rarely. It is usually a common place issue with an internal hemorrhoid but not so much with an external one.

Internal hemroids

Bleeding is the first symptom with which you can catch a hint of internal hemorrhoid. Rectal bleeding is also one of the most common of all symptoms of this condition. Generally you pass blood, fresh and crimson in color, with your stool and then know that you have an internal condition that you need to cure. Rarely conditions become such that you become anaemic due to the extreme loss of blood due to the same.

However, other than bleeding there are other symptoms that you may try to catch and then determine for yourself whether you are suffering from internal hemorrhoids or not. The best would always be to consult a doctor but you can check the preliminaries if you want to.

Itching as a form of irritation will affect you severely when you are suffering from this condition. It happens because the hemorrhoids seep mucous that are toxins to the anal skin. As such, the anal skin starts having an irritation reaction which becomes prevalent to us in the form of itching. This itching occurs at the areas around the anus and the rectal area and you can do nothing to prevent it.

Other than itching, skin irritation is a very simple hemroid symptom. This skin irritation will occur mostly on your back side and the skin covering your buttocks. Formation of very tiny acne type mater is also known to have been found in person affected with internal hemroids. This is formed due to the same mucus secreted.

Discomfort and inability to sit down are other familiar hemroid symptoms that you will come across. You may also feel that you need to pass stool at all times. Actually the hemroids are pushing against the rectal and anal orifice leading to this feeling. You may even get this feeling immediately after you get out of the toilet.

Pain is the most acute hemroid symptom and you can use a variety of pain killing ointments or tablets to take care of the condition.
